COVID-19 Resources & Response

These are unprecedented times as we endure a global pandemic that has claimed the lives of more than 6,625,000 people globally and more than 1,077,000 people in the United States (data also available from Johns Hopkins University).

As conditions change and as vaccines are widely available, we want you to have the very latest information. Please see the buttons below for links to data from San Diego County and vaccination information.

As United Methodists, we remember the first of John Wesley’s three simple rules: first, do no harm. As a result, we suspended in-person Worship last year in addition to meetings, fundraisers, meals, and more. We are slowly beginning to bring these important opportunities back. This does not mean that the church has closed! We know that we remain a deeply connected spiritual community, and we continue to be called to serve one another and serve our community.

As we continue on this journey, our Worship gatherings take place in both an online format as well as an in-person format with safety practices in place. This is an expression of our ongoing care for our church family and our surrounding community. We hope that offering both options, we may celebrate an ongoing connection with one another.

In mid-2020, we assembled a Campus Reentry Assessment Team (CReATe), who worked to develop detailed plans for outdoor worship and later indoor worship in line with guidance from our Annual Conference. These plans were presented and approved by our Church Council and approved by our District Superintendent. Outdoor Worship began on November 29, 2020, was put on hold in light of increasing infections and reduced ICU capacity, and resumed February 21, 2021. Indoor worship was approved on May 5, 2021 and began on May 9, 2021. With the arrival of the new Omicron variant of COVID, we once again transitioned to online-only Worship beginning on January 9, 2022, and then returned indoors in February. CReATe continues to monitor the ever-evolving pandemic and updates practices as needed.

If you have questions about Worship, programs, ministry opportunity, or plans for returning to in-person gatherings, please contact our Church Office. Our office is open by appointment, and we are responding to telephone and email. Thank you!
