Compassion Camp

Compassion Camp

Compassion Camp 2024 will be held at La Jolla UMC August 5th – 9th from 9am – 12pm!

Compassion Camp is a program where participants explore what it means to have compassion for themselves, others, and the world.

Through Compassion Camp: What Every Living Thing Needs, children and youth will explore what all living thing needs to live — Shelter, Food, Water, Air, and Community — and how they can have compassion for the living earth, especially their local ecosystems. Through awareness, gratitude, wonderment, reciprocity, and kinship, children & youth will consider how to become co-sustainers and participants in God’s creation. Using Psalm 104 as their grounding text, along with additional supporting scripture, they will closely examine the interconnectedness of the whole earth — humans alongside the more-than-human world.

Compassion Camp is developed for children ages Kindergarten – 5th grade, but youth volunteers are always welcome to join in the fun!

The suggested donation for Compassion Camp is $75 (+$25 each additional child per household). Scholarships are available on the registration form.
