The Interfaith Shelter Network is now providing shelter for the unhoused at churches throughout San Diego County. We are part of the Beaches branch, and we will be supporting the shelter to be held at Pacific Beach UMC beginning January 17th. We will be signing up volunteers for the two-week program. These are the opportunities that will be available:
Dinner Host — Prepare a dinner ready to be served by 6 pm. The dinner needs
to feed the 12 guests and several volunteers (including you if you can stay).
Overnight Host – Stay overnight. Cot and bedding in separate room is provided. (Arrive by 6 pm for dinner to meet the guests, stay until 8am. Feel free to bring your own pillow.)
Clean-Up on Saturday 1/31 from 8 to 11am
More information will be available once we receive it from PBUMC. If you are interested in helping, please contact the church office and we will keep you informed of available dates and other information. Stan will be in the patio after service on Sunday, January 11th for sign-ups. We will have more details each week as we prepare for this important act of service.
