Pastor Rob comes to us as a native of the San Diego area. Born locally, he was raised down south in the Chula Vista area, and is quite the snob for good Mexican food. Pastor Rob attended school in Chula Vista, and after high school, served in the Army until he was Honorably discharged. Knowing that there was no other place on Earth as good as San Diego, he returned to his native land to begin the next chapter of his life. Back home, Pastor Rob pursued an education at San Diego State University, ultimately graduating and earning a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work. As a social worker, he worked with a number of populations; to include but limited to, high risk youth, substance use disorder, incarcerated individuals, and older adults. It was in the service of older adults at a local non-profit agency, where he met the love of his life and now wife Shari.
Ultimately, Pastor Rob would leave social work to serve in the local church context. God was working on his heart the whole time, and ultimately led him into seminary to pursue an education for this emerging vocation. He served God in a number of different ministries, but they always encompassed the family. While in service to other families, he would also enlarge his own family by welcoming into the world his first daughter Claire in 2017, and his second daughter Julietta in 2019. During the same year, Pastor Rob would graduate Bethel Seminary and earn a Masters Degree in Divinity, with a concentration in Pastoral Care & Counseling. He received his ordination through the Assemblies of God International Fellowship, and has been officially in ministry ever since.
Pastor Rob has a deep love and care for the marginalized, and often forgotten. This shows up specifically for him through his sensitivities to children, older adults, and mistreated animals. His heart verse is Proverbs 27:17, and he loves to help people reach their God-given dreams. When not being super serious about stuff & things, Pastor Rob loves to play billiards, loves his Vans, loves Star Wars, loves Legos, loves chocolate, and loves to watch movies with his wife.
