Calling all women of the La Jolla United Methodist Church. UMW (United Methodist Women), also known as United Women of Faith, are planning to revitalize our unit here at LJUMC. To that end, a meeting has been called for immediately after church on Sunday, September 20. The agenda consists of two
items—election of board members and a decision to move some of our assets to the Foundation.
Who is a member of UMW? “.. .any woman who commits to the purposes of the organization and would like to belong. You do not need to be a member of the United Methodist Church to belong.”
UMW has supported the women’s retreat, the Christmas Workshop, and the rummage sale. Ithas sponsored the annual Christmas luncheon, annual tea, and Valentine’s Day dinner. UMW is also frequently given the opportunity to provide receptions after memorial services.
We would like to bring back some of these traditions, but we need to augment our leadership and begin to spread the word to build our membership. Please join us at the important meeting after church on Sunday, September 20, and help us grow this important segment of the sisterhood of LJUMC.
