Mission Update from Stan Johnson

Coat Collection for Project Grace at PBUMC was a great success. Your contributions were a major part of the clothing that was handed out on
January 21st , and it was very much appreciated by everyone at PBUMC.

The Interfaith Shelter Network is now providing shelter for the unhoused at churches throughout San Diego County. This follows several years cancelled by the pandemic. We are part of the Beaches branch, and we will be supporting the shelter to be held at PBUMC beginning January 21st .

We are now signing up volunteers for the two-week program. These are the opportunities currently available:

LUNCH for Next Day
(Bring lunches by 7:00pm the evening before the signed-up day.)
2/1/23 – 2/11/23 available

DINNER Host
Prepare and serve dinner by 6:15pm
Monday 1/30/23
Friday 2/3/23
Sunday 2/5/23
Monday 2/6/23
Tuesday 2/7/23
Thursday 2/9/23
OVERNIGHT Host
(Arrive by 6pm, stay until 8am. Dinner, cot, and bedding provided.
Feel free to bring your own pillow.)
1/28/23 – 2/10/23 (except 1/31 and 2/2)

CLEAN UP on Saturday 2/11/23 from 8 to 11am
WASH BEDDING Pick up Saturday 2/11, wash at home and return to church

The shelter normally has 12 guests. That would require 12 lunches. The dinner needs to feed the 12 guests and several volunteers (including you if you can stay).

I will have more details each week as we prepare for this important act of service. Please contact me with any questions or concerns.
